About
Most small shops in India still write bills by hand. Existing software is either too complex (Tally), needs internet (Vyapar), or costs money every month. BillSnap fixes this.
BillSnap is a free, offline Windows desktop app that turns any shop PC into a billing counter. The shopkeeper types the customer name, adds items, hits save — and gets a professional PDF cash memo (original + duplicate on one A4 sheet) in under 10 seconds. No internet connection required. Ever.
The software handles everything a small shop needs day-to-day: inventory tracking with automatic stock deduction on every sale, low-stock alerts on the dashboard, daily and monthly sales reports, Excel export, and one-click backup and restore. Multiple companies can run from a single installation — useful for a family that owns more than one shop.
The codebase is production-tested, fully documented, and ready to ship. Built with FastAPI (Python), React 18, TypeScript, SQLite, and Tauri for the native Windows shell. The entire app installs as a ~50MB .exe with no dependencies — no Python, no Node.js, no setup required for the end user. A 32-page technical book documents every architectural decision, data flow, and bug fix.
The buyer gets: full source code (MIT license), the live website (thebillsnap.vercel.app), all documentation, the installer, and a 30-day handover with the founder. Zero liabilities, zero monthly costs, zero subscriptions to inherit.
